There is currently a large-scale conflict happening between Iran, Israel and the United States of America. In response to US and Israeli military action, Iran has launched multiple rounds of missile and drone attacks against Israel and other countries in the Middle East.

This has led to airlines cancelling flights to the Middle East, and flights being re-routed around affected airspace.

  • Contact your Airline, Tour Operator or Travel Provider

Please contact your airline, tour operator or travel provider, as they are responsible for assisting you in relation to any issues with your travel arrangements due to the conflict.

There is no cover under the policy for any costs or expenses which occur due to the failure of a travel provider to supply a service or transport for any part of a booked trip.

  • Follow Foreign and Commonwealth Advice

It is important to always follow the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCDO):

  • The FCDO are currently advising against all but essential travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar and UAE
  • It is advising against all travel to Israel.

If you are already in these countries, please follow the advice given by the local authorities.

If you are unable to return to the UK because you are currently in an affected country your cover is automatically extended until the first possible opportunity to return to the UK through government approved routes.

You are still covered if you need to seek medical help whilst you are making arrangements to leave the affected areas by government approved routes.

The FCDO are currently advising against all but essential travel to Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE. It is advising against all travel to Israel.

Since Saturday 28 February the conflict has been classed as a known event. As such, for any policies purchased on or after this date:

  • there is no cover under the policy for claims relating to the conflict as this is a known event and there is a General Exclusion to travel to a country, area or region where the FCDO have advised against all or all but essential travel.
  • there is no cover under the Cancellation and Curtailment sections
  • there is no cover under the Missed Departure and Travel Delay sections.

If you rearrange your holiday, please check if you need to update your insurance policy. Please be aware any changes to your policy may require you to pay an additional premium.

If any costs are incurred through you having to rearrange your trip, these are not covered by your policy.

If your policy renewal occurred on or after the 28 February 2026, there is no cover under the policy for claims relating to the conflict as this is a known event and there is a General Exclusion to travel to a country, area or region where the FCDO have advised against all or all but essential travel.
